Violets & Volunteers

The violets are blooming, their flowers beloved of Sappho, theirs leaves yummy and nutritious. I just picked a salad of violet, chickweed, dandelion greens, garlic mustard and wild garlic that was delicious! If you’d like to munch on some weeds yourself, come out to Lonely Worm Farm and taste the wild greens pesto I am making for our potluck/volunteer day on April 20: 12-4. For carnivores and picky eaters, there will be hotdogs and hamburgers, too…

Speaking of volunteers, we are looking for a hamburger/veggieburger/hotdog flipper to oversee the grill from 12-2. Other jobs include planter filling; bench varnishing; weeding the garlic beds; and adding your name to our ever evolving labyrinth project. RSVP at lonelywormfarm@gmail.com. Thank you!
