Wrapping up the old, unfurling the new

Happy New Year from Lonely Worm Farm! This year I’ll be jotting down quick little posts about what’s happening on the farm once a week, starting now.

Today, as we do on most Tuesdays, we hosted a group of volunteer artists and farmers from Mid Hudson Arc.  It being a sloppy, gray, rainy day, we holed up in the barn with seed catalogs and discussed which flowers, vegetables and herbs to plant in the spring. Pink celery! Snap Dragons! Dragon carrots! (A theme seems to be emerging…) The circling of plants in the catalogs led to an interest in circles on their own, leading to some excellent drawings.  And so we begin 2023 with art and seeds.

To round out 2022, we completed our collaborative welcome mat, started back in October when we opened the barn.  Here it is, hanging on the wall. Thanks so much to all who contributed!
